Sometimes we get hard drives returned after we sell them. It could be that the hard drive was incompatible with the buyer’s system, or a number of other reasons. The hard drives are still good, but they need to be reformatted before we can sell them as used. Once we reformat a hard drive, we run a data recovery program to retrieve deleted files. We need to see if there are any files left on the drive. This helps us from selling hard drives that have important data on them.
